Did they really say it?

Lines about what an organization does with AI travel fast and lose their source on the way. Each one here is checked against the record: the exact words, the occasion, and what got lost in the retelling.

“100% of Nvidia's software engineers and chip designers use Cursor.”

Attributed to Jensen Huang (Nvidia). Their words.

The wording is the reporter's summary, but Huang said it. In the Citadel Securities talk (about 25:07 in an auto-transcript) he says: "Nvidia already today, we use 100% of our software engineers, 100% of our chip designers. Every single engineer in today is augmented by Cursor. We use Cursor largely inside our company." He gave no count and no way of measuring it. The transcript is machine-made, so the exact wording may differ slightly from the audio.

Where it comes from: Business Insider's October 15, 2025 write-up of Huang's Citadel Securities talk, picked up by AOL and Dataconomy, put the line in the reporter's voice.

“92% of Uber devs use agents monthly, 65-72% of code is AI-generated inside IDEs, and 11% of pull requests opened by agents.”

Attributed to Ty Smith and Anshu Chadha (Uber). Paraphrased.

The line is the newsletter author's summary, not an Uber quote. Uber's own words come near it. On the DX podcast Ty Smith said one in nine pull requests is production-ready with zero human authoring from background agents, which is about the 11%. Uber's Praveen Neppalli Naga posted that 84% of AI users work agent-style, about 70% of IDE-committed code is AI-written, and 95% of engineers use AI monthly. We found no Uber source giving 92%. The newsletter's own update note gives 84%.

Where it comes from: The 'Impact in numbers' summary line in Gergely Orosz's Pragmatic Engineer issue on how Uber uses AI for development, after Uber's session at the Pragmatic Summit.

What they actually said: “And today at Uber, one in nine of our PRs is fully production ready with zero human authoring from our background agents.”

“Agents are already doing 30% to 50% of work within the company.”

Attributed to Marc Benioff (Salesforce). Their words.

Fox Business and Entrepreneur both quote Benioff directly, saying AI "is doing 30% to 50% of the work at Salesforce now", in areas such as engineering, coding and customer service. Fortune's wording is a paraphrase, and "agents" is the reporters' word: his quoted word is "AI". We read the press quotes, not the video, and found no transcript. It is an unaudited CEO estimate with no definition of "work".

Where it comes from: Benioff's June 26, 2025 interview on Bloomberg's The Circuit with Emily Chang, reported by Bloomberg, SiliconANGLE, Fox Business and Entrepreneur; Fortune's September 2025 piece repeated it without quotation marks.
